BBC staff evacuated over suspicious vehicle
London Bridge Tube station and nearby offices have been evacuated by police.
BBC evacuated its staff in central London as “suspicious vehicle” prompts security alert, reported The Independent.
Network Rail and Southeastern said the station remained open and trains were running into and out of the station as normal.
A police spokesman told Business Insider that a call was made at 12.26pm on Tuesday and that the situation is still ongoing. A number of evacuations have taken place as a matter of precaution’.
Even London Bridge was evacuated after a “suspicious item” was found. Hays Galleria, a shopping district in downtown London was also cleared.
Workers, who have been evacuated, have been tweeting from the scene. The road was closed to traffic while the investigation was being carried out, but reopened just before 3pm. “Police not allowed to comment”.
