Google Search now has a Pinterest-like image saving feature
Well, Google’s fixed that.
Normally, image searches on Google are ephemeral things and gone the moment you close the browser tab. Yes, you have apps like Pinterest, but what if you don’t want to use another app. Google has come up with a solution by letting you star and organize your images in folders.
This feature is now available for U.S. users when searching for images on iOS and Android devices across all major browsers.
A bookmark feature in Google’s mobile search engine allows U.S. users on iOS and Android devices to star and bookmark images to easily find them again later. Collections let users dedicate a Google+ page to the topic of their choosing, and allows people to follow it. When you tap on an image, it takes you to the page the image is from and not the image directly. Yes you can screenshot and save the images directly onto your device, but you’ve been probably waiting for an easier way to do all these.
“Once you’ve starred a few images, you can keep them organized in folders: to add an image to a folder of similar items, tap the pencil shaped edit icon”.
“Create a grouping such as “haircuts for the winter” or “snowman ideas” and your image will be added to a folder with similar ones”, Accame suggested.
Let’s say you’re searching for “bob hairstyles” on Google and an image catches your eye.
Unfortunately, for now only we hope, this feature is only available in the US.
