Browns coach: Josh McCown done for season with injured collarbone
The Ravens ended up topping the Browns 33-27, in a one score game. “Josh means a lot to this team, whether it was in the locker room, practice field or gameday”.
Well the Cleveland Browns nearly won a game but again they found a way to give the game up.
“I have a series of meetings scheduled”, Pettine remarked Tuesday.
“Worst possible scenario for Josh”, Pettine said.
Will the Browns stand by their decision to make Manziel ride the bench because of his off-field problems?
“I gather the opinions of others”.
“I’m not ready to announce that”, he said.
McCown’s fracture will not need surgery, Pettine said. Dallas Cowboys star Tony Romo is not the only quarterback in the National Football League to go down with a broken collarbone this season. He was shaken up after the play, prompting Davis to warm up on the sideline.
McCown, 36, left FirstEnergy Stadium with his right arm in a sling.
“One of the greatest football games you’re probably ever going to see in terms of excitement”, Ravens Coach John Harbaugh said.
The Browns had ample opportunity to give Coons a much shorter attempt at a game-winning field goal had they not mismanaged the clock at the end of the game.
With a backup quarterback, three injured offensive lineman and a lack of talent at the receiver position; Tony talked about how well the running backs played, “Everyone on the Cleveland Browns defense knew the Ravens were going to try and run the ball”.
McCown suffered a concussion in the opener and almost played against the Titans in the second game.
McCown was a warrior for the Browns, completing 63.7% of his passes for 2,109 yards, 12 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions in 8 games.
“I was praying for a block”, said the man of the hour, Hill.
When Brent Urban knocked down Travis Coons’ attempt, it not only led to a game-ending 64-yard return for a touchdown but it extended an impressive streak, as well.
The Browns attempted a game winning field goal with 6 seconds left when the game was tied at 27.
On Monday, in a 33-27 loss to the Ravens, the Browns became the sixth team in the last five years to have a blocked field goal returned for a touchdown, and the first this season. On Sept. 30, the Browns signed Davis to a two-year contract extension through 2017. “Will Hill didn’t do a very good job in coverage”.
“I came inside and nearly threw up”, Hill added.
