Will fulfil all responsibilities on climate change: Modi to Obama
Addressing the Rajya Sabha, Modi said, “Our society should take up the responsibility of reforming itself and discarding incorrect practices of past”.
“At some point of their assembly in Paris, Modi himself walked as much as Nawaz Sharif and shook hands; it suggests the tolerance of our prime Minister”.
“This partnership is another example of Prime Minister Modi continuing to show his strong commitment to expand renewable energy in India and will undoubtedly complement India s efforts to build 100 gigawatts of solar energy by 2022, said Rhys Gerholdt, climate spokesman at the World Resources Institute”.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reiterated that India with all seriousness would completely fulfill all its responsibilities with regard to climate change as he met U.S. President Barack Obama on the sidelines of the climate summit in Paris.
He also noted that India had developed a new International Solar Alliance which would help to advance the cause of accelerating the adaptation of solar energy not only in India but around the world, which will be important to the world’s clean energy future.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday concluded the Constitution debate in the Rajya Sabha and praised Baba Saheb Ambedkar for his “exemplary” contribution to the nation. The Kyoto Protocol, a resolution formed after a climate conference in Japan in 1997, had set binding targets for carbon emission.
He stated that advanced countries need to leave enough carbon space for developing countries to grow.
