United target Robben happy at Bayern Munich
The rumours about a potential move to Premier League champions Manchester City have been persistent, but it appears that if the Bayern Munich players had their way, Guardiola would be continuing with the Bundesliga champions.
The 44-year-old is a wanted coach and clubs such as Manchester City and Manchester United are believed to be keen to appoint him as their next manager.
Guardiola’s current deal runs out at the end of the season, although talks are planned with the Bayern board following their final game before the winter break against Hannover on December 19.
But according to German newspaper Bild, Guardiola and his family are happy and settled in the south German city. You can’t look too far forward in football, but everything is fine at the moment – I hope things continue this way’.
Speaking to the media in Germany, Robben said, “I never thought about a transfer”.
Having recovered from injury problems that have plagued much of the opening to his season, Robben has showed good form of late.
Dutch winger Arjen Robben was widely tipped to leave the club when Guardiola first arrived, given the former Chelsea FC attacker’s propensity for ignoring his team-mates on the pitch during attacking plays.
However, the news of Robben pledging his future to Bayern will disappoint United and their fans who require his potency in attack.
“They should set themselves the objective to go the Bundesliga season unbeaten”.
