Apple to Introduce a 13 and 15-Inch MacBook Air Next Year
There are no details yet for the MacBook 2016’s specs and features, however, Laptop Mag noted that if it will take a cue from the 12-inch MacBook design, an inclusion of the Force Touch trackpad is expected, as are 2K or higher resolution display, and low-voltage mobile CPUs from Intel.
According to a report from come from a Taiwanese publication Economic Daily News, Apple will launch the revamped MacBook Air (a 13 and 15-inch version) at its annual Worldwide Developer Conference next year.
Based on the report, it would be appear that Apple’s MacBook Air and MacBook Pro lines will appear quite similar, especially if it ditches the 11-inch version of the Air. Next-generation Air is said to have new batteries, chassis, cooling modules and a whole lot of other new components. In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but what do you guys think of a slimmer 15-inch MacBook Air?
The upgraded MacBook Air is said to have a slimmer body, and will come in a 13-inch and 15-inch model.
Apple now sells a 11-, 12-, 13- and 15-inch laptop (not including the 12.9-inch iPad Pro). There is a bit of a caveat, though – while the MacMall specials are all 2015 models, these two MacBooks from B&H are from the 2014 model year.
The MacBook Air 2016 release is surrounded by rumors but if the line is indeed going to be scrapped, users are hoping that the last model would have the best features so it will exit with all the accolades that it deserves.
The new 11-inch MacBook Air is displayed at the new Apple Store during a media preview on October 21, 2010 in Chicago, Illinois.
Taiwan’s Economic Daily News claims that these will be brand new, slimmer models in 13in and 15in screen sizes (where does that leave the 11in Air, we wonder?). But it doesn’t look like the Cupertino tech giant has plans of releasing its new laptop during the holiday rush.
There’s no word on whether or not it’ll have a Retina display. This obviously didn’t happen during this year, but the rumor kept lingering in the air since then and it’s not entirely clear if it could actually turn out to be true in 2016.
