The Walking Dead Season 6 midseason finale teases the arrival of Negan
Fans of the Walking Dead comic books have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of Negan – arguably the series’ most diabolical villain – for weeks now.
The Ants also ate the Sam’s cookie, which, in turn, brings the possibility that Sam may not be able to live through this feat after all. The teaser opens with Daryl (Norman Reedus), Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) and Abraham (Michael Culitz) driving back to Alexandria in the fuel truck that Daryl found during episode 6. Much like HBO’s “Game of Thrones”, “The Walking Dead” has no qualms about killing off characters.
While Negan, who will be played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, was “introduced” in this post-credit scene, he wasn’t exactly there in the flesh – only the mention of his name.
Were Daryl’s captors running from The Saviors on “The Walking Dead”? Negan’s charming, manipulative and will do whatever it takes to keep his Saviors safe.
In the books, Negan is the leader of a group of survivors, who call themselves the Saviors. Comics fans know him well, but for the uninitiated, it boils down to this: Negan leads with violence, and instills fear in those around him.
Walkers, pedophiles, cannibals… Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his group have seen a lot in the zombie apocalypse. There is already a leaked video showing Negan beating someone to death with his baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire, the report relays. Glenn had the bad luck of being knocked off that dumpster by Nicholas, ending his own life but [Glenn] had the good luck of Nicholas landing on him.
But enough about the midseason finale – what about the rest of “The Walking Dead”? In the end, Negan will lose and will be sentenced to life in prison.
If the comics are to be followed, it would be Glenn.
When Glenn’s fate was left in the balance, fans were shocked and went to desperate lengths to prove that there was a way he could have survived. This upcoming half-season is very very different than the previous half-season in the structure, in the lineup of characters in the episodes, and I think even in the types of stories we are telling.
