Maryland At North Carolina Preview

That period of time featured two of college basketball’s best going at it.

North Carolina says senior guard Marcus Paige is expected to return from a right hand injury for Tuesday night’s game against No. 2 Maryland in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Trimble more than held his own on this big stage, overcoming a rough start to finish with 23 points on 8-for-14 shooting to go with a career-high 12 assists. Paige and Trimble basically took this one over for much of the second half, putting on a show of high-level guard play to make this matchup worthy of the rankings. During his years at UNC he has earned a reputation for making clutch shots amid tense circumstances in second halves. In their last two games, the Tar Heels were +14 and +13 respectively in the rebounding column. Paige missed two or more free throws just twice last season. They finished with 22 turnovers, eight by Trimble, the only blight on his otherwise brilliant night. I think he does a great job with his club.
