Dashcam Video Shows Police Cruiser Colliding With Deer

A police officer in Kentucky received quite a startle when he struck a deer with his cruiser.

The police department released a video of the encounter, which ended in officer Pittaluga and the deer going their separate ways.

After a rather impressive flip, the deer miraculously bounded away from the scene seemingly unscathed.

Pittagula was not injured in the incident but his cruiser did reportedly sustain some damage. Video shows the deer bouncing off the front windshield and landing on the side of the road.

A deer surprisingly ran away uninjured after colliding with a police cruiser and “performing a triple axel” over the hood, police said.

‘We did place a call to Santa just to be sure this deer didn’t belong to him (we would hate to end up on the naughty list),’ the department wrote in a Facebook post.

Police say he maintained control the entire time.

Global News reached out to the Kenton County Police Department about the incident but they declined to comment. The cruiser however, did encounter some damage. But, it appears the deer was not seriously hurt.
