LinkedIn’s Redesigned Mobile App Now Available for Android and iOS
However, many of LinkedIn past core features slowly shifted into single-use apps, and the company ultimately made a decision to develop a new app that aims to provide a more intuitive and streamlined experience around what it now sees as its core attributes.
Other than some of those larger changes, the overall experience seems more streamlined, sleek and snappier.
Like Facebook, LinkedIn’s new app is centered around a central feed, which shows you updates from people in your network and content they are sharing on LinkedIn. The fact that LinkedIn code-named their new App project “Voyager” should tell you something about their goals with the new technology.
Me, your profile page, surfaces all activity related to who views your profile and who comments on or shares your posts.
My Network is a new area to check for connections and see any major updates from people in your network.
LinkedIn’s official app has been updated, making it easier to get more done. “We’ve moved from a feed that was a lot about your connections to a feed that’s more about the professional topics and interests you choose to follow”.
Your Feed is the default home screen, and it includes news and commentary from your network based on what LinkedIn algorithms determine to be the most relevant for your industry, function, skills and conversations. And stickers! – My Network: a daily briefing on what’s happening in your network. LinkedIn choses to put more emphasis on their social media role by remaking its messaging feature. It offers a much more familiar interface to other social networks, and the app is more responsive than past iterations. This makes it easy for you to ping someone in your network on a quick question or continue a conversation as you would in real-life.
An interesting feature is the calendar sync that can even provide you a snapshot of the person you are going to meet in order to help you find more about them. The social networking platform for professionals has now started rolling out the redesigned Android and iOS app. For users on Android and iOS, the LinkedIn app is now available via Google Play and App Store, respectively.
