Arizona Cardinals to host TE Jermaine Gresham
New Orleans offer couldn’t have been a showstopper for him to leave town without a deal and explore other options with a reported deal on the table.
But as with the the 2014 secondary I remember hearing the same thing and we all saw how that turned out.
Also in the report Schefter says that Gresham is being courted by other teams and has visits lined up the next two weeks. Gresham never caught fewer than 46 passes in a season but he had a reputation for being inconsistent.
Of course, the Saints recently parted ways with All-Pro tight end Jimmy Graham, so the thought of the 6-foot-5 Jermaine Gresham in that New Orleans air attack is quite intriguing.
As some added spice, the Bengals will make a journey to the desert and play the Cardinals at University of Phoenix Stadium on November 22, that should give Gresham an incentive to play against his old team, should he be looking at some playful payback.

It doesn’t matter at what price the Bengals would be able to get him, there’s no chance they re-sign Jermaine Gresham. Troy Niklas, a second-round pick in 2014, was nagged by injuries his rookie year. Gresham has been relatively healthy throughout his career with Cincy, missing just three games in the last three seasons and six total in five years. If you extend the Yards Per Route Run qualifiers to 39, then Gresham was 22nd among tight ends in that efficiency stat, which is encouraging for his next employers. The Vikings have a terrific young quarterback in Teddy Bridgewater and perhaps the best running back in the National Football League with Adrian Peterson, but what this team lacks are solid weapons in the res zone and a go-to guy for Bridgewater when he needs a big catch.
Any tight end joining the Saints roster will compete for snaps with veteran Ben Watson and “Making the Leap” candidate Josh Hill. However, Gresham still has good hands for the position.
