Star Wars-themed VR experience for Google Cardboard is now out
The Han Solo Star Wars standalone film will be directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, and is expected to shoot in January 2017 with a theatrical release date of May 25, 2018. One of the big selling points is that we’ll see a number of familiar faces from the original trilogy, including Harrison Ford returning as fan-favorite space rogue Han Solo. “My cousin’s daughter said something about wanting me to be another princess, and I’m like, ‘No!’ Girls don’t have to be princesses!”
Touching on the subject of spoilers, the actor explained: “I have something coming out where there’s an amount of money where if it leaks, because of me, I don’t get that payment”.
Abrams reached out to him later-and Miranda said he’d “drop everything” for it. “We’ve never discussed this before, and [Miranda] might kill me for revealing this”, Abrams said.
The Star Wars versions are made and function just like the standard Google Cardboard models, except they’re created to resemble four character from The Force Awakens movie. “There are lots of surprises in this movie”. It reminded me of when I was in Tunisia on the salt flats. I had that same wave of emotion happen to me when I was on Skellig Michael in Ireland. Everyone from Bendict Cumberbatch to Michael B. Jordan and Saoirse Ronan auditioned for “The Force Awakens” before J.J. Abrams ended up picking relatively unknowns to play the leads. One features Han Solo, blaster in hand, talking to Rey, while another has Adam Driver’s character of Kylo Ren (described as a Darth Vader fanboy) giving a speech to the late Anakin Skywalker’s iconic helmet. It’s a wonderful movie, it’s got great production values.
According to the article, the soundtrack offered a glimpse into the movie starting from track I-a theme used for the attack on the desert planet Jakku, as well as the hunt for the legendary lightsaber of Luke Skywalker. But the Star Wars-themed headsets that go with Disney’s new mini-VR experience are the single most adorable headsets I have ever seen.
