The Apprentice: Double blow as Selina Waterman Smith fired and Scott Saunders
So on that basis Joseph, you may be here a little bit too early.
Selina also joked about her fate on the show when she shared a series of photos of her wearing lingerie on Instagram, including one of her pointing at the camera with the caption, “You’re fired”, although these were soon deleted. There was no anger there.
Lord Sugar responds: “Well it’s your choice if you want to”. It’s got to feel comfortable on both sides – and for me it didn’t feel like the suit “fitted”.
The series sees aspiring entrepreneurs compete over various business-related tasks to impress Lord Alan Sugar and secure a £250,000 investment.
It was a double shock on The Apprentice this week as resident “pantomime villain” Selina Waterman Smith was sacked and Scott Saunders sensationally quit the show.
Waterman-Smith was brought back into the boardroom with Valente and Poulton after making no sales, but Lord Sugar ultimately decided he could not enter a business partner with someone of such a “volatile nature”.
“My team got up to leave and on the spur of the moment I said to Lord Sugar: ‘Thank you very much for the opportunity but I’m going to exit the process.’ “He’s seen and done it all so he just said: Ok”.
Speaking in her taxi, Selina said: “The wrong person has been fired”.
She also implied weeks ago that she did not win the series, claiming on Twitter that she had “broken contract” with the show and would not be appearing on sister series The Apprentice: You’re Fired.
“It was an enjoyable crash course into business, and I would recommend it to anyone. I would be a great business partner for Lord Sugar, but obviously if it means having to go through working with people as unpleasant as people like Charleine and Joseph, I’m actually quite happy to find another business partner to work with”.
