Wladimir Klitschko takes up Tyson Fury rematch option
Joseph Parker’s confidence is at an all-time high with the unbeaten Kiwi heavyweight saying he is capable of beating new world champion Tyson Fury and former champion Wladimir Klitschko.
Fury won the WBA, WBO and IBF belts by defeating Russian Klitschko on points in Espirit Arena in Dussledorf on Saturday.
Bernd Bönte, CEO Klitschko Management Group (KMG): “There will be a huge worldwide interest in this fight which already can be billed as the fight of the year 2016”.
“I am better than that performance and want the world to see the real me”.
“Every time I’m pulling up at a petrol station or checking social media, everyone’s asking me when I’m going to fight Tyson Fury”, Joshua said.
New WBO/WBA/IBF heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury and his team are “excited” by the possibility of their rematch with Wladimir Klitschko and hope to secure the fight on British soil, his Uncle and trainer, Peter has revealed. “No matter where it might be, I want to be the undisputed champion of the world”.
Klitschko has admitted he under-performed in losing his crown to Fury in a below-par contest in Dusseldorf last Saturday night and did not take long to reject any possibility of retirement.
“I went home dehydrated before I even touched anything, I was so frightened of being drug-tested and failing the drugs test”, he said, recounting the events leading to the bout over the weekend.
“I believe I can beat anyone so, yeah, I can beat Tyson Fury”.
Briton Fury – who has Irish heritage – is unsure who his next opponent will be but indicated he would like to fight in Ireland one day.
Glazkov is the mandatory challenger but Fury might chose to fight Klitschko in a lucrative rematch instead. If you say I’m fighting in Japan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, American, wherever it has to be, it has to be.
They’re not just going to fall in lock step to some insane idea that is floated by Peter Fury and Tyson for where they want the fight to take place. “I never took my eyes off him during the stare-off”.
“Wladimir has a lot of potential [to bounce back] and therefore the question arises – in the rematch, will Wladimir arrive in great shape or was it a mishap?”
