Minnesota Vikings miss chance at control

Now we have to focus on the next game, and that’s how we have to be as we go through the season.

Before we get to the pomp and circumstance surrounding the Thanksgiving night game between the Bears and Packers, let’s have the Jay Cutler version of, “Slow your roll”. As predicted, they would try and get him involved in this one.

Well, you get the idea.

The game will forever live in the deeply repressed memory of Vikings fans and in the cold hearts of their Wisconsin rivals.

Zimmer called the penalties against the Vikings – eight of them, giving Green Bay 110 yards – “uncharacteristic” of how they’ve played. It promises to be one of the more special nights in team history.

This is the NFL’s longest running rivalry, but interestingly it is the first time the two teams square off on Thanksgiving. “It would be really cool to see the three of them at the 50 yard line, if for nothing else, just a photo op”, said Larrivee.

“There were too many times that we shot ourselves in the foot mistakes in crucial situations”, he said. When he did have a chance to redeem himself, he fumbled.

Aaron Rodgers often speaks with pride about the history of the Green Bay Packers, a franchise that has been fortunate to have three of the game’s best quarterbacks on its side.

“Kind of starting with us on stage at the honors, getting to share some laughs together, and just going from there”, Rodgers said.

Plenty, though, hurt the Vikings.

Rodgers and Favre have smoothed over some things from the past and will be seeing each other for the first time in awhile. He noted, “Not really a lot of fun watching the games and doing all that and not be able to help your team win, so I’m not used to doing that”. Ronnie Hillman had about 20 percent of his season’s total yards against the Bears. The Vikings didn’t beat a team past year that finished with a winning record and they have no wins this season over a team that now has a winning mark.

However, Rodgers is not among the 16 Packers on the injury list for Tuesday.

This week’s game against the Falcons is important, just as important as a division game.

But Rodgers led the Packers on another touchdown march, traveling 80 yards in seven plays capped by Jones’ 27-yard scoring catch on the first play of the fourth quarter. Mason Crosby kicked five field goals, all from more than 40 yards, including one from 52.

Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater finished 25-of-37 for 296 yards, 1 touchdown and no picks – but was sacked six times for 48 lost yards, and hit or knocked down even more.
