West Ham United expect Diafra Sakho to be sidelined for two months
Slaven Bilic has confirmed that striker Diafra Sakho is out for around four to eight weeks thanks to a thigh injury sustained against West Brom at the weekend.
Meanwhile, West Ham was also forced to a 1-1 tie by West Bromwich Albion at the Upton Park last Sunday via an own goal from vice-captain Winston Reid, according to SkySports.
“It was disappointing for everybody to miss good players like Dimitri Payet and Diafra Sakho but I think we have a good squad”.
If West Ham do manage to beat Manchester United they would become the first team in Premier League history to beat Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and United away from home in the same season. It’s not a light one unfortunately. “We are not bad in terms of quantity of injuries, but unfortunately they have happened to key players”, Bilic said.
Sakho has subsequently been ruled out for up to two months while Payet will not feature until the New Year after suffering ankle ligament damage earlier in the campaign.
Bilic admitted the injury comes as a “massive blow” to his side’s already-weakened attack going into their showdown with Manchester United this weekend.
However, co-chairman David Sullivan insists they have an “unbreakable option” with Lanzini’s parent club and Bilic is confident West Ham will sign him permanently.
‘So far he has showed his class more as an impact player, to come on in the last 20 mins or half an hour and lift our game.
