CJ Anderson runs to AFC Offensive Player of the Week

This is absolutely a game that the team should win, but coming off of a victory over the New England Patriots, the team may have trouble focusing on the weaker San Diego Chargers.

Brock Osweiler was named the Broncos’ starter for the rest of the year, reports claimed yesterday. Brady went 4-for-4 on the drive, the last a 23-yard touchdown pass to Gronkowski, who eluded a pair of defenders en route to the end zone. But throwing four touchdowns against Jacksonville is one thing. The Broncos said last week that it would be “at least” two more weeks before Manning could return and that could change depending on how the rehab goes for the injury.

San Diego used a first-round pick on Melvin Gordon, but it hasn’t translated on the field.

Osweiler definitely has been the better fit for the Broncos’ on the real gridiron, but those invested in Denver’s passing game selfishly want Peyton back.

If the Broncos can get off to a good start then there is no way they don’t run the ball 35+ times in this game to the tune of 200+ yards and multiple touchdowns.

“I felt like I let my teammates down besides that one big play”, Thomas said.

I think Osweiler could easily shred this Chargers pass defense with the weapons the Broncos have, but I think Gary Kubiak will keep the kid gloves on somewhat even after two impressive games to start Osweiler’s career. Anderson and Ronnie Hillman with the aim being supposedly to take the offensive pressure off of his aging quarterback’s arm. The Broncos offense has been more productive in the running game with Osweiler starting, but Kubiak remains committed to bringing Manning back once he is healthy enough to play. He has been biding his time for three-plus seasons behind future Hall of Famer Peyton Manning.

“Obviously, the weather played a little bit of a factor into it”, Osweiler said. Osweiler however, seems the ideal fit.

Plus, Denver doesn’t have to say anything about Manning’s status. Osweiler said. “All I know is I’m the starter this week against the Chargers”.

For now, Osweiler is atop the depth chart and the Broncos (9-2) are atop the AFC West.

Despite the 10 pieces of mail he gets every day with “solutions and suggestions, some healing medicines, which I appreciate”, Manning said Anderson told him “there’s no magic fix to this, it’s kind of an individual thing”. Having only played a handful of National Football League games, mainly in the preseason, many question the young quarterback’s inexperience. For the Broncos, their plan is to wait until that moment to make a decision on the starting quarterback. Though there were plenty of fouls called on the defense early in the game that looked like were going to cost the Broncos, the defense, which is reminding some people about the “Orange Crush” of the past Denver teams, truly stood up to the Patriots.
