Wladimir Klitschko to take Tyson Fury rematch
New lineal heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, will happily trash his IBF title on principle after the sanctioning body threatened to strip him for immediately rematching Wladimir Klitschko, rather than face their #1 contender Vyacheslav Glazkov.
Fury took away Klitschko’s four titles in a stunning unanimous decision in Duesseldorf on Saturday night, ending the Ukrainian’s 9 ½-year reign as champion.
Many thought the 39-year-old could retire but he will bid to win his titles back in 2016 per a clause in the big-fight contract.
The judges scored the fight 115-112, 115-112, 116-111 in favor of the Britain.
I have a pre-season Christmas gift for Tyson Fury and all boxing fans around the world: I will be making use of my contractual option for a rematch against Fury. But even if you wanted to say that Glazkov deserved wins in all of those fights, it’s extremely troubling how close those fights were.
“I am 27 and I have got a young family, so I want to spend as much time with the kids as I can”.
Yu Kimura took the Light Flyweight belt from seasoned champion Pedro Guevara, and Carlos Cuadras defended his Super Flyweight belt against Koki Eto in a pair of matches that changed their divisional rankings.
“I wouldn’t say I’m Irish born and bred because that would just be lying”.
“David Haye will never get a fight against Tyson Fury after what he did to me”, Fury said in a report by BBC Sports.
Fury said he had already encountered evidence of gamesmanship from Klitschko’s team during the bout.
“We’re going to appeal to them but if they insist on stripping us, then that belt will go in the dustbin because their belt will mean nothing”.
‘I’d like to come back to Germany again to fight Wladimir.
Klitschko took to Twitter on Monday to admit: “I still don’t believe I actually lost”.
But Peter Fury said: “Tyson had a lot more to give as well”.
“To be honest it doesn’t matter to me where I fight”.
‘If they force Tyson to fight Glazkov, it will not happen.
