Suspected shoplifter jumps to death from parking garage at Providence mall
It is unclear if she knew how far the drop was but police also say she was warned before doing so.

Providence police continue to investigate after a woman fell to her death from the first level of the Providence Place Mall parking garage.
Officials have not yet released woman’s identity and it is not yet known what she may have taken from Nordstrom. At that time, other security officers heard a voice on the radio of someone who stated, “Get away from the edge”. She died instantly and her name has not yet been released as her notification to her family is pending.
“There are different reports, reports of her being pursued, reports of her being walked after”, said Lapatin.
