BRIEF: Irish WR Will Fuller named to Biletnikoff Award watch list
University of Hawai’i junior Marcus Kemp was one of 48 receivers selected to the Biletnikoff Award Pre-season Watch List as announced by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, Inc., the Florida-based creator and sponsor of the award. The Biletnikoff Award annually recognizes the outstanding receiver in college football.
Clemson, S.C.-Clemson wide receivers Mike Williams and Artavis Scott have been named to the 2015 Biletnikoff Watch List. Last year, Grant ranked among Big 12 Conference leaders and led the Red Raiders in all-purpose yardage (124.0), receptions (67), receiving yards (938), receiving yards per game (78.2) and kick return yards (23-515).
The Biletnikoff Award is given to the outstanding receiver nationally regardless of position, so Marshall can remain a candidate no matter what role he ends up playing in 2015.
For Jones, it is his second preseason designation following his selection to the Paul Hornung Watch List (most versatile player in major college football) on July 6. Davis already has been tabbed as First Team All-MAC by Phil Steele and a preseason All-American by the same publication. Clemson is one of just six schools with two players on the list.
Once again in 2015-16, Erickson is expected to carry the brunt of the load in the receiving game, and his efforts in 2014-15 have been recognized as he is named to the Biletnikoff watch list. His 899 yards also set the PSU freshman record, while his 14-catch effort vs. Ohio State are the most catches in a game by a Nittany Lion in program history. He caught 589 passes for 8,974 yards and 76 touchdowns in his 14-year Raiders career from 1965 through 1978. College Football Hall of Famer and Heisman Trophy victor Desmond Howard will present the award on the show. The victor of the 2015 edition of the Biletnikoff Award will be revealed during the Home Depot College Football Awards Show on December 10.
