A group of men embrace in prayer outside the location of a recent shooting in San Bernardino, CA. On Wednesday, the day of the shootings, he tweeted a map that showed how close the shooting area was to an office building where he says his parents work. According to the Los Angeles Times, 21 people were wounded and 14 died after two individuals opened fire at a party in San Bernardino’s Inland Regional Center.
Berhe was a fifth-round draft pick for the Giants in 2014.
Berhe, a defensive back for the New York Giants, tweeted Thursday morning: “Just got word that one of my cousins was among the 14 killed yesterday, I’m so sick right now”.
Those two suspects were later fatally shot by the police hours after the shooting.
Berhe, who is now on injured reserve with a season-ending calf injury, grew up in San Bernardino county and his parents and other family members still live there today.
