Tina Fey and Amy Poehler spoof ‘Star Wars,’ you, in ‘Sisters’ promo
Sisters stars Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are well aware of the overlap, hence the above spoof, known as Sisters: The Farce Awakens. Fey and Poehler speak in English accents (because they’re hiding they’re drunkenness) as they and their supporting cast members talk about how exciting it is to be working with this cast and reprising these roles. And she said, ‘Best of luck on getting your star.’ Then I went to the gas station and as I was pumping my gas, I left my wallet on the roof of my auto, and I drove away, and I thought I had lost my wallet forever, but it was returned to me just an hour ago from a charming, slim gentleman who works at Ford models, who goes by the name of Dilly.
In the first video of the Genius Gift Ideas set, Tina and Amy help with the dilemma of what to get people you don’t know that well. “We don’t see each other very often”, Fey, 45, told the magazine, which published the fun Q&A online Tuesday.
“They’re very impressed that you can come and visit the star”, Poehler told ET of her boys.
FEY: Amy was like, if we back off the date then, like, so what?
If there is one movie you don’t want to compete with at the box office, it’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Fey produces the comedy alongside Jay Roach (Meet the Parents series), and Poehler executive produces from a script by Paula Pell (TV’s Saturday Night Live, 30 Rock).
Amy to Tina: “I think one of your greatest accomplishments was transitioning from the captain you were at SNL to creating a show [30 Rock]. So we’ve rented them”, Poehler added.
‘Growing up I had a sisters lunchbox, i had all the Sisters toys, ‘ Ike recalls to the camera.
Poehler’s film credits include “Baby Mama”, “Blades of Glory”, “Mean Girls” and “Wet Hot American Summer”. “It’s what makes you feel good…Sexy is all relative”. So yes, they’re openly mocking one of the most beloved franchises of all times. Their movie “Sisters” also opens December 18, as NPR’s Elizabeth Blair reports. The pair will also return to their old stomping grounds when they host ” SNL” Dec. 19 with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band as the musical guest. That is so hard-extricating yourself from a place you were so comfortable and successful, then doing something else so well.
“I like to wear a very inconspicuous, like, beer hat”, Poehler says.
