Indian Envoy’s Statement ‘Against Diplomatic Norms’, says Pakistan MoFA
About media reports that Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval met Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit two weeks prior to the chance meeting in Paris between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said it was a brief unscheduled meeting which was telecast by media as it was taking place.
“A government’s spokesman said that such reports were “baseless, malicious and concocted”, before regretting that despite the clarification, some sections of media were continuing to air the ‘false report”.
According to a statement, Imran asserted the leadership had to take bold initiatives and convince their people to move forward with dignity and confidence.
He said Pakistan was in favour of coordinated action against terrorists and not in favour of joint action.
Qazi said Pakistan has always emphasised the need for dialogue on all issues.
Khalilullah said the main goal of the Heart of Asia conference was to promote cooperation among Afghanistan and regional countries to ensure peace, security and development in Afghanistan.
Pakistan on Thursday reiterated that it wants “result-oriented” dialogue with India to resolve all outstanding issues, including Kashmir, and promote bilateral relations.
He said that the confirmation list is being updated on a daily basis.
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is expected to pay an official visit to Islamabad, Pakistan’s capital on December 9 to attend a ministerial level event on Afghanistan.
“However, continued help by Pakistan to terrorism directed at us from the territory underneath Pakistan’s management has prevented creation of crucial surroundings”. Pakistan is committed to root out terrorism and extremism from the country and the Zarb-e-Azab operation is going on successfully in this regard, he added.
FO spokesperson in the briefing also condemned terrorists incident in Tunisia on 24th November where fourteen people lost their lives.
The spokesperson said the two-day Heart of Asia Conference will begin in Islamabad from Tuesday, and will be inaugurated by Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani.
“We expect all regional countries to support efforts for peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan”, Qazi added. He also said that over two thousand three hundred Pakistanis are awaiting deportation in various detention centres in Saudi Arabia.
The spokesman also expressed ignorance about the reported wounding of Afghan Taliban chief Mullah Akhtar Mansoor in a shootout in Pakistan.
