Scott Weiland remembered by rockstars, fans
The news was confirmed to the magazine by Weiland’s manager.
A message on the singer’s official Facebook page stated that Weiland died in Bloomington, Minn., where he was on tour with his current band, Scott Weiland and The Wildabouts.
Weiland and his band the Wildabouts are now on tour and were scheduled to perform in Nevada and California later this month (Dec15). The website showed the event was cancelled.
His wife, Jamie, a photographer, confirmed his death last night, telling the Los Angeles Times: “It’s true”.
“I can’t deal with this right now”, she said.
Former frontman of the Stone Temple Pilots and the band Velvet Revolver, Scott Weiland, has passed away at the age of 48.
The singer also formed part of the supergroup Velvet Revolver alongside former Guns N’ Roses members Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum. Brown’s death came the day before the band released its debut album.
“I used to feel guilty about my success, but I’m over that now”, Weiland said. “There’s more to be revealed and more to be told”. Yet, that group eventually split over disagreements about touring and drug use. He did not provide further details.

Weiland had publically battled addiction since the 1990s, with a number of arrests and rehab stints making news over the years. He pleaded guilty to felony heroin possession in 1998.
Ryan Adams tweeted a link to Stone Temple Pilots song Sour Girl and added the caption: “RIP Scott Weiland “Universe, please take care of him (sic)”.
