Deontay Wilder: I’ll come to United Kingdom to fight Tyson Fury
Varying critics say that his win on Saturday over His decision over Wladimir Klitschko on Sunday was a boring affair and that Fury has limited talent.
Plenty of eager heavyweights have expressed an interest in facing Fury, including up-and-comer Anthony Joshua and the recently returned David Haye. Luckily for me I had a good taste of German beer before, during and after the bout, to as my Publisher “Bad” Brad Berkwitt always says, “Fuggedaboutit” that I was watching in pain the heavyweights of today (and the past 15 years).
Further, having just won the IBF title, Fury isn’t likely to concede it-quite literally-without a fight, so expect him to begin negotiations with the Ukrainian in due course.
Allied to Fury’s triumph, Manchester now has four world champions, but the 27-year-old would not be drawn on whether he would fight in his home city in the future. “So, if Deontay Wilder wants a unification fight he is going to have to wait, because Wladimir Klitschko has a round two…ding ding ding”. Let’s laugh at his name, shall we?’ Fury said after seeing off Klitschko.
Klitschko did look concerned early in the fight and that is because Fury was refusing to do what so many have done in so many of his world title fights and relent.
Canny Londoner Haye timed his return to boxing with the week of Fury’s magnificent victory over long-reigning champion Wladimir Klitschko on Saturday – a move which Fury claims he has seen right through.
The Olympic champion told Sky Sports: “Every time I’m pulling up at a petrol station or checking social media, everyone’s asking me when I’m going to fight Tyson Fury”.
“It’s not about defending 100 times or staying on top for 35 years or breaking records”.
“I didn’t give Klitschko any rounds, even. I thought I outboxed him almost all of the rounds”. If I don’t fight again, I’ll know I’ve achieved what I set out to do.
A rematch clause is believed to be in the fight contract and Klitschko said there would be another bout against the Briton. I’m not really interested in boxing at the moment.
“With Floyd Mayweather gone, Wlad took his place and I just took him out”.
Few boxing experts expected him to beat Klitschko and his dad said those doubters should “bow down” to his son.
“Whatever title he gets mandatory for, I will vacate”. “I was expecting him to be stronger”.
