Charlie Sheen faces first lawsuit over HIV status
But since he revealed that he is HIV positive on the “Today Show” on November 17, Rossi claims her former fiancée backed out of the deal and refused to sign a settlement.
According to CNN, the lawsuit details several weird instances, including the time Sheen allegedly threw Ross’s Tiffany bracelet in the ocean while on a boat trip in Hawaii. “But she now realizes Sheen likely has no intention of marrying her or staying with her”.
Rossi attempted suicide twice after their breakup, once in November 2014 when he ended their engagement via text and again in December when he sent her “insulting and demeaning text messages”.
In her suit, Ross claims she then fell pregnant with his child and after telling Sheen he forced her to terminate the pregnancy because he was anxious about the child being HIV positive.
Under California’s criminal statute, a person who knowingly exposes another to HIV through unprotected sex must be proved to have had a deliberate intent to infect them. The actor was also very jealous of Rossi’s ex-husband and there were even reports that he allegedly tried to put a hit out on him.
Despite not going public with the virus until recently, Charlie’s ex-PA Steve Han spoke out at the end of last month to say that he knew something was wrong when the actor accidentally cut his leg with a knife.
“As a result of this exposure, plaintiff has suffered serious emotional distress from a reasonable fear that she will contract HIV”, the lawsuit says.
“Charlie Sheen intends to vigorously defend the lawsuit filed, ” Singer wrote. “We are confident that Mr. Sheen will prevail in this action”.
According to People, Sheen had promised to pay Rossi $1 million plus a portion of his income from “Anger Management” to keep her quiet.
The complaint filed in Los Angeles Superior Court (read here in full) begins with justification for bringing the lawsuit in open court in the first place.
When Sheen first broke the news of his HIV status, he admitted that a woman found his stash of HIV medicine, and he was forced to come out to prevent further blackmail.
