Vikings scoff at penalty that gave the Packers a miracle in Motown
Call it a Hail Mary, a Motown Miracle…the 61-yard touchdown pass from Aaron Rodgers to Richard Rodgers that led to a 27-23 win Thursday night will not just forever go down in Packers lore.
Tight end Richard Rodgers duly caught it in a scrum of end zone traffic, cueing celebrations for the Packers and stunned silence from the home fans.
Richard Rodgers caught eight passes for 146 yards.
Julius Peppers forced a Stafford fumble late in the third quarter that led to Rodgers’ first touchdown pass, an 8-yard throw to Davante Adams.
The Lions dominated the first quarter of the match after Matt Prater kicked them ahead with a 51-yard field goal.
But Green Bay chipped away and when Aaron Rodgers ran in the visitors’ third touchdown with just over three minutes remaining, the game was delicately poised at 23-21 Detroit.
As for Thursday night, it was a good sign for the Packers offense that Rodgers played so aggressively.
