Rocker Scott Weiland dies in Bloomington while on tour, statement says
Tributes poured in yesterday for rock singer Scott Weiland, the troubled ex-frontman for the band Stone Temple Pilots, who was found dead in Minnesota during a tour stop with his new band, The Wildabouts.
Authorities found cocaine in the room on the tour bus where Scott Weiland was found dead on Thursday night.

The Stone Temple Pilots broke up in 2003. “Just learned our friend Scott Weiland has died”.
STP reunited for a successful tour in 2010, but by 2013 the rest of the band chose to part ways with Weiland for good.
Many expressed shock and called for prayers for the Weiland family.. All of our love and respect.
On Friday, the Bloomington Police Department issued a statement, revealing that evidence collected in the warrant included “a small quantity of suspected controlled substance that field tested positive as cocaine” inside the bedroom where he was found. The stimulant was also reportedly found in his bandmate Thomas Delton Black’s bedroom.
Stone Temple Pilots were MTV darlings and scored a Grammy for best hard rock performance in 1994 for the single “Plush”.
The Bloomington Police Department has confirmed that Scott Weiland was pronounced deceased last night after his body was discovered on his tour bus.
His third wife, photographer Jamie Wachtel Weiland, said that her husband hadn’t done drugs in years and that the band members had a pact not to do drugs.
The rocker’s death comes as Weiland had openly acknowledged struggling with drug addiction throughout his three decade long career.
The Hennepin County medical examiner confirmed Weiland’s death in a news release Friday but didn’t list a cause. He pleaded guilty to felony heroin possession in 1998.
