Maryland police officer stable after being shot by suspect
An officer was hospitalized after he was shot in the face overnight, the Aberdeen Police Department said. He is facing charges of attempted murder.
Around 3 a.m., police said the officer was responding to Ohio Court and Baltimore Street after reports of suspicious activity.
Police declared Testerman surrendered to authorities at his girlfriend’s home in Edgewood at around 10:25 a.m, nearly eight hours after the incident took place. He was flown to shock trauma and is in stable condition, according to police. The arrest occurred without incidence and he was conveyed to the custody of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office of the Aberdeen Police Department.
Police were looking for 21-year-old Tyler Scott Testerman, who they described as armed and unsafe.
Schools in Aberdeen were delayed in opening as police searched the area for Testerman.
“Through a relentless investigation, Mr. Lawrence was developed as a second suspect in the shooting of Officer Jason Easton”, Aberdeen Police said in a statement at approximately 9:30 p.m.
