Pats’ Rob Gronkowski has bone bruise, knee sprain
The biggest question in the Broncos’ near future remains Peyton Manning’s health and potential return from a partially torn left plantar fascia.
The Sunday game marked the Patriots’ first loss this season, but also ended with tight end Rob Gronkowski, one of the team’s most vital players, injured.
The Denver Broncos are back on track with Brock Osweiler, though the team doesn’t appear to be in a hurry to decide between him and Peyton Manning as the long-term solution at quarterback.
Manning, who will resume his rehab after the cast comes off sometime this week, met briefly with Brady on the field Sunday night before retreating indoors, out of the camera lens’ view.
Manning is still working his way back from injury as he wears a walking cast. “We’ll just take it one day at a time”.
“He and Brock sat there at halftime before we actually go through our list of what we’re coming out with”, Kubiak said.
Denver Broncos quarterback Brock Osweiler (17) throws against the New England Patriots during the second half of an NFL football game, Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015, in Denver. The athletic quarterback’s ability to run bootlegs and play action has opened up Kubiak’s zone-based offense, which had been modified for Manning. Having already seen Gronkowski go through it, you could tell that knowing it might have happened again really hit home with Brady.
Osweiler credited Manning with giving him tips at halftime Sunday night that helped Denver come back from a two-touchdown deficit to beat the previously undefeated Patriots 30-24 in overtime.
Kubiak said last week that he was concerned about the hits Osweiler has taken in such a short time. Your findings may vary and Reiss’s conclusions aren’t likely to convince anyone that the tight end is or is not being treated unfairly, but it surely will be something that people will watch closely once Gronk makes it back on the field.
“I don’t think [Broncos S Darian Stewart] meant to do it intentionally or anything”. You think they’re looking at it, and they probably are. “In this league, you work, you work, you work and you never know when an opportunity is going to come or how it’s going to come”. Osweiler said. “All I know is I’m the starter this week against the Chargers”. “They have some things they’re going to have to check on, and we’ll go from there”. “He’s got a young quarterback he’s working with right now going on his third start, then he’s got Trevor and now he’s got a new guy”. “But just running with that nastiness and that strength and just trying to be powerful every time I run the ball, that’s what I’m talking about doing”.
