Liverpool boss Klopp wary of pushing Coutinho too hard
‘I only know about the actual situation at Newcastle now, not why they changed managers in the past.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has warned his in-form players that confidence is delicate like a small flower ahead of their game against Newcastle United in the Premier League. It’s flawless we have him back and can bring him in the game.
Newcastle boss Steve McClaren might prefer his team to sit back in an attempt to restrict the space for Liverpool’s attackers, as most teams do at Anfield, but the home crowd are unlikely to accept that game plan. We try to learn as much as we can but, in the end, in my opinion it’s not so important when you are preparing a game to know all about English football, just to study the opponent’s last three or four games. If they think we should win easily, then I don’t care.
‘But yesterday nobody gave me the sign. “We must be prepared”. Liverpool have endured a long list of injuries to key players this season but Klopp has dealt with it and used the players he has available to great effect to achieve positive results.
Jordon Ibe has become a different player under Klopp and is now looking more confident and willing to take defenders on and is now a real attacking threat for Liverpool. Hendo is a worker, he needs to be absolutely fit and that is the difference.
It is an outlook he is keen for his team to adopt and Klopp said: “Football always looks only like work in hard times”.
Other Premier League players who seem to spend the majority of their time out of action include Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany, West Ham’s Andy Carroll and Arsenal midfielder Theo Walcott.
“Henderson has made a big step in the last few weeks and that is the best news”.
“We must give him time to come in”.
‘I like optimism, ‘ said Klopp. “He can train almost normally but he doesn’t feel totally comfortable”.
“We are often in talks about it. His problem is that we speak the same language so I speak more with him”.
“Wednesday/Sunday is ok for recovery. So today we will have to wait again”.
Daniel Sturridge is set to keep his starting spot after Klopp confirmed the England man is “available”.
Liverpool were able to overturn deficits against Chelsea and Southampton in some style, winning 3-1 and 6-1 respectively, but regardless Klopp doesn’t want to be playing catch-up so early in games.
