Russian Federation gave United States advance notice of some Syria strikes
Another video published by the defence ministry on Friday showed signs “For our guys” and “For Paris” being written on a bomb.
“Pilots and technicians of Hmeymim airbase have sent their message to terrorists by priority airmail”, said a caption accompanying the post.
“All the targets were hit”, said Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu in an update given Friday on Russian military operations in Syria.
Main efforts were concentrated on undermining the finance and economic capacity of the IS, which would prevent daily supplies of 60,000 tons of oil worth 1.5 million USA dollars flowing to the black market, the statement added.
There were separate reports of a pair of Russian cruise missiles flying low over the Aleppo Province in the direction of the ISIS capital city of Raqqa.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has called on the country’s military to step up attacks on terrorist positions in Syria, after Moscow confirmed that a homemade bomb brought its civilian plane down over Egypt in a terror attack, claimed by Daesh terrorists.
Most of those strikes targeted strongholds of the Islamic State group in Raqqa and Deir-ez-Zor, said a USA official who wished to remain anonymous.
The coalition has been bombing Islamic State targets in Iraq and Syria for more than a year separately from the Russian campaign.
Russian Federation have tweeted a picture of a missile which they plan to fire at Isis with “That’s for Paris” written on the side.
Earlier this week, Masrour Barzani, the head of intelligence and security in Iraqi Kurdistan, said IS was not significantly weakened by the aerial bombardments of the US-led coalition and Russian Federation.
One of the strikes destroyed several oil tanks controlled by ISIS on Syria.
Russia’s bombing blitz this week by warplanes and cruise missiles from navy ships destroyed 15 oil refining and storage facilities in Syria and 525 trucks carrying oil, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said Friday.
On Monday, Putin said that the Russians would provide air support for anti-Assad groups, in the interests of teaming with the US and other Western allies in the fight against ISIS.
