Star Wars original Mark Hamill dons disguise to prank Hollywood tourists
Despite a recent publicity push that has gone everywhere from magazine covers to television talk shows to social media campaigns, Star Wars: The Force Awakens remains shrouded in heavy secrecy.
Taking part in a Twitter Q&A session Friday afternoon, Harrison Ford responded to a question about his favorite scene in The Force Awakens with an answer that was either a massive spoiler, or perhaps just a simple mistake when remembering the name of a new character.
So, is that a spoiler?
The original rumor, which surfaced in February, claimed that this scene takes place on the ramparts of “The Evil Castle”, where Han Solo is hiding from Kylo Ren (Adam Driver). And if you didn’t know who they are, it’s an global fan-based organization dedicated to the construction and wearing of screen-accurate replicas of the Star Wars universe.
“I think what’s great about it is Rey, her character, is such a good pilot”, explained Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy.
Kennedy has big plans for Phasma and confirmed that the captain will carry on into the next movie.
For what it’s worth, Ford has seen The Force Awakens. Head here for more details.
For fans in Toronto, their impatience can be tempered somewhat, because Disney is opening up a Star Wars: The Force Awakens pop-up shop from December 5 – Dec. 21, open daily from 11 a.m.to 7 p.m. Located at 277 Queen St. W., the little pop-up shop is the ideal destination for the Star Wars fanatic.
