Firmino enjoying Klopp reign, not English rain

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says his side must eradicate their weakness of conceding early goals after going behind early on in three of his matches in charge to date, the Daily Mail report.

Firmino started his career at local club CRB in his native Brazil – based in Maceio – but moved to Figueirense in 2008 and he admits that his initial move was tough for both him and his family.

But after settling into the squad and benefiting from the tutelage of an old adversary, Firmino is becoming the key player that supporters expected on his arrival from Hoffenheim in July.

Despite the club’s generally positive results and improved displays that have yielded 11 points from a possible 18 in the Premier League, it’s understood the German coach is keen to bolster his side.

He told the Telegraph: “When I was a kid, sometimes mum and dad didn’t really want me to play football”.

Now, don’t get too carried away, we’re not privy to Jurgen Klopp’s list of transfer targets, and we have no way of saying that he’s after Dortmund defender Neven Subotic. Sustaining the same level of drive over the course of the season will be tough, but Klopp proved he can get players to give their all for a full campaign during his time at Dortmund. A star performance in the 4-1 win over Manchester City recently showed the Brazil international’s potential, while he has the versatility to operate in a number of attacking roles.
