Scott Weiland Cocaine Found on Bus Band Member Arrested
Scott Weiland’s The Wildabouts bandmate has been arrested for cocaine possession after the drug was discovered on the tour bus where the singer’s body was found.
Police said they found “a small quantity” of cocaine during a search of the bus Friday following Weiland’s death.
Officials haven’t said what caused his death, but police did say cocaine was found on the bus and Weiland’s battles with drugs and alcohol have been well documented.
Black has been arrested and booked for fifth degree felony possession of drugs by the Bloomington Police Department in Minnesota, where Weiland and his band made a tour stop yesterday. “Together we crafted a legacy of music that has given so many people happiness and great memories”. Weiland was found Thursday night. “Part of that gift was part of your curse”.
With deep sorrow for you and your family, we are saddened to see you go. All our love and respect.
Weiland’s former bandmates – Eric Kretz and brothers Dean and Robert DeLeo – penned a message to the late rocker on the Stone Temple Pilots Facebook page on Friday. Two days earlier, he played his final concert at Adelaide Hall in Toronto, and just hours prior to taking the stage, the former Stone Temple Pilots frontman gave his last interview. However, that show had been cancelled more than a week prior due to underwhelming ticket sales. The singer had been dogged by substance abuse problems throughout his career.
Another tragedy has occurred in the shadow of Scott Weiland’s death. The investigation into Weiland’s death is on-going, reports the Star Tribune.
The band and Weiland did not have the most harmonious relationship.
Mr. Weiland is survived by his wife and by son Noah and daughter Lucy, his children by his ex-wife, Mary Forsberg.
