Justin Theroux Almost Drowned On Honeymoon With Jennifer Aniston
This past August, after marrying in a super-secret ceremony in Malibu, Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux took off for the most lavish honeymoon we had ever heard of-a six-figure affair at the Four Seasons Bora Bora with their closest friends including Chelsea Handler, Jason Bateman, and Courteney Cox.
The 44-year-old actor recently revealed that he feared death while he was trying his hand in scuba diving for the second time during his honeymoon, reports E!
He was joined by some members of the group for a 10-foot dive and said he couldn’t explain to the instructor he had only done it once before as the teacher spoke little English.
In an interview with Live with Kelly and Michael Friday Justin Theroux regaled viewers with the story of how he nearly drowned while on honeymoon in Bora Bora with Jennifer Aniston.
“The next day, we go out on a boat and there’s this French guy named Jean or something, there was no communicating — we could not talk”, remembers the actor.
Theroux said he tried to remain calm and swam to the instructor to let him know that he needed help but the instructor brushed him off and told him to keep swimming with the group.
Theroux said that when he told the instructor what was happening, the instructor reached for his oxygen mask, but that only frightened him.
Theroux said he started to think that someone was out to get him.
“I’m really deep in the red, it’s like at one”, the actor said.
“First of all why are we doing an emergency [respirator] when the Earth is straight up there”, Theroux joked. Finally, the scuba instructor after seeing “the sheer panic in [his] eye balls” gave him an emergency respirator.
Needless to say, Theroux has not been scuba diving since. Watch the interview with Theroux in the video included below.
Justin reveals the expert just kept “swimming away” from him, so he turned to his friend to express his worries.
Justin then began “coughing and hacking underwater” as water rushed down his throat.
