People Report Being Attacked By Human-Raised Squirrel in Novato

If the thought of an unprovoked squirrel attack doesn’t scare you enough to make you stay inside forever, let’s not forget that a pack of at least a dozen raccoons rushed an Irish couple who were out walking their dogs in San Francisco in November, one of two similar encounters in the city’s Richmond district this year.

Residents of a California county are being warned to steer clear of squirrels after a string of attacks attributed to the cute-but-not-cuddly creatures.

Novato, Calif. – An aggressive squirrel suspected of attacking eight people in California is believed to be dead.

Williams said his right arm, hand and leg were injured in the incident, along with his lip and head.

The humane society also said homeowners can make their yards less attractive to rodents by cutting back trees that overhang roofs, blocking potential entrance sites to their homes and removing bird feeders.

“I should have never pet that squirrel”, said Kennedy Francis, one of Miller’s classmates.

The battle with the animal sent both the husband and the wife to the hospital.

Officials speculate it could be that the squirrel has been fed and is not afraid of people.

There is reportedly no indication the squirrel had rabies.

“All of the attacks have been within just a few days of each other”, Bloch said in a written statement.

By the time The Marin Humane Society arrived and tried to locate the squirrel, it had taken off into the open space area near the school. “He was clawing and scratching”, he said. “I got him off my shoulder the first time”.

Mr. Williams managed to grab the squirrel by its tail and threw it to the ground.

Hermance, echoing Bloch’s tone, said community members should not become fearful.
