Donald Trump Maintains 20 Point Lead Over Nearest Rival — CNN Poll
Lots of celebrating by Trump fans and despairing by Trump critics on social media today over this poll.
We’re not even sure what to say about this any more.
Just 21 percent of Republicans, a little more than half of the 36 percent who favor Trump for president, want to deport everyone. Are these independents going to turn out in Republican caucuses and primaries?
One reason for the poor predictive value of national polls is that whoever wins in Iowa and/or New Hampshire generally gets a huge boost in subsequent states.
Do you think Jeff Zucker and CNN are over the top on the Donald Trump coverage?
Among those who do not hold a college degree, Trump has a runaway lead, and 46% are supporting the businessman while it is 12% for Cruz, 11% for Carson and 8% for Rubio.
The New York Times published Tuesday an article that talks about the panic that now reigns within the Republican Party, “as it becomes increasingly plausible that Mr. Trump could be the party’s standard-bearer”.
Take it for what it’s worth, but respondents in the poll of Republican voters were found to be largely less college-educated. Brooks could be right.
Alex Wong/Getty Images Republican candidate Ben Carson struggled to pronounce the name of the terror group Hamas, calling it “hummus”. The country is nervous; the anxiety over security is real. Trump said it might be an example of “radical Islamic terrorism” the president won’t yet acknowledge. But the new CNN/ORC poll shows Trump once again far ahead of the rest of the pack.

He told the crowd that they probably wouldn’t support him because “I don’t want your money”.
“As a black minister, I can tell you this, we’re right in the inner city and I tell you we need jobs, we need employment, we need businesses – and I tell you who better can help us help ourselves than Donald Trump”, he added. Cruz is trying but the more I watch him, the more I think he’s ultimately a bad match for Trump fans. “Should we believe them as well?” someone asked her, per NBC’s Monica Alba.
What do you think of Bill O’Reilly advice to Trump?
The Washington Post writes, “Rubio’s business deals during the period between his Tallahassee and Washington chapters demonstrated the ways he leveraged his enduring power inside government to make a profit on the outside”.
Alfred J. Tuchfarber has looked at the December polls and has also demonstrated how little predictive value they have. But on the Political Prediction Market, Rubio has done much better.
NBC’s Chuck Todd will interview Attorney General Loretta Lynch on “Meet the Press” this Sunday. Hillary Clinton was leading in the polls in Iowa and came in third place in 2008.
Florida Sen. Marco Rubio has not performed almost as well as Trump in opinion polls. Ted Cruz speaks during the Republican presidential debate on November 10, 2015, in Milwaukee.
Carson also refused to make eye contact during his speech, pronounced Hamas as “hummus”, and explained that “the world is complicated”.
