Steph Curry named West’s Player of the Month
We’re almost a quarter of the way through the season and Curry is still on pace to make more than 400 3-pointers this season.
He sat out the entire fourth quarter because of the big lead and didn’t get a shot to break his career high of 54.
Curry is putting up video game numbers, averaging 32 points in 34.3 minutes per game.
After that, it was back to business for the young Curry as he went on a tear and scored 28 points including 5 triples in the third quarter, an explosion that turned the game into a blowout.
Stephen Curry and the Warriors have opened this season with 20 straight victories after beating LeBron James and the injury-depleted Cavs in the 2015 NBA Finals. Despite being defending champions they came into the season with a chip on their shoulder as some critics said they got lucky with injuries (both their own and their opponents) and that their championship was a fluke. He hit 10 of 11 shots from the field, including all five 3s – many from well beyond the arc and in the face of a defender – to help the Warriors build a 21-point cushion.
The Golden State Warriors point guard dropped 40 points on the road against the Charlotte Hornets on a night when his father, Dell, was being honored by the home team.
Recently named coach of the month, interim coach Luke Walton said “We don’t focus on the streak, we do’t talk about it a bunch in the locker room”.
But even at full strength and at the top of their collective game, Waters added, the Cavs may not be good enough to beat the Warriors in another seven-game showdown for the National Basketball Association title if both teams get that far.

He is the Hornets’ all-time leader in games played (701), point scored (9,839), field goals (3,951), three-point field goals (929) and double-digit scoring games (592).
The Indiana Pacers recorded a 103-91 win against the Los Angeles Clippers after Paul George’s 31 points and 10 rebounds. Put the kid’s name on the wall and retire his jersey. Sources confirm Clifford’s new contract will be guaranteed for the next three seasons with the Hornets holding a one-season option after that. Klay Thompson also scored 21 points and showed exceptional offensive skills.
Philadelphia were 9-for-30 on three-pointers.
