SPOILER: Hollyoaks actress axed from show as of ‘immediate effect’
Stephanie, 22, has played Sinead O’Connor in the show since 2010 and in April signed another year long deal with the Channel 4 soap.
She seemed aware that her behaviour might be seen as inappropriate – as she was heard giggling to pals at the time that it might see her get sacked from Hollyoaks.
A spokesperson for the show said: “Stephanie Davis will no longer be filming Hollyoaks“.
‘Not that I give a crap about #Hollyoaks, but what did Stephanie Davis do to be axed from the show with immediate effect?’ one asked. Loved her as Sinead.’. Eat a good breakfast.
“Buy your cup of coffee and enjoy every sip of it. Go to work, make that money, and learn something new in the process”.
Stephanie first appeared on the Channel 4 soap in 2010, alongside her on-screen stepmum Diane, father Rob and brother Finn. “I’ve kind of grown up here, which has been mental”.
No further explanation has been given for the actress’ sudden departure, nor has it been revealed how the character of Sinead will be written out.
It is understood executive producer Bryan Kirkwood visited Stephanie at her Merseyside home and terminated her contract on the spot – just four months after it was renewed. She was nominated for Best Actress and Best Dramatic Performance at the British Soap Awards 2014.
While James has since deleted the tweet fans are in no doubt it was a dig at his former colleague after she famously starred in the BBC programme Over the Rainbow where she auditioned to star as Dorothy in the stage version of The Wizard of Oz.
