Broncos want new QB Brock Osweiler to take fewer hits
The Denver Broncos aren’t ready to name Brock Osweiler their starter for the remainder of the season just yet.
The Broncos want to remind us all not to believe everything we read.
The quarterback also downplayed the perceived difference between a full plantar fascia tear and a partial one.
Manning has been in the team complex this week, with a walking boot on his left foot.
Osweiler led the Broncos in a huge win over the New England Patriots this past Sunday and improved to 9-2 on the season.
They topped that number in their overtime win against New England, rushing for 179 yards and three touchdowns on a snow Sunday night despite falling behind the previously unbeaten Patriots by two touchdowns. “Listen, like I told you guys before, we’re totally committed to getting our quarterback-getting Peyton healthy and getting him back”. “If you go the whole season without experiencing a loss or having to fight back from adversity, you never really get to check the true character or grit of that team”. “And I’ve always wanted to meet “they” and “sources” because both seem to know a lot”.
“When you have size and strength like our tight ends have, like Gronk and (Scott) Chandler and Mike (Williams), you get to use it to your advantage”, said Joseph Fauria, who was signed to the Patriots practice squad a couple of weeks ago.
Anderson once again looked like the running back who went to the Pro Bowl last season, finding another gear on his two TD runs, especially the game victor, when Osweiler changed the call at the line.
“I haven’t thought much more than trying to get healthy”. He started pointing out some things to me about some of the things that he felt good about, and he was echoing that to Brock. In his two starts, the 25-year-old has only thrown one interception.
Manning said “it’s obviously hard not being out there”, but he’s proud of the way his longtime backup is playing. “I think we try to make sure that we’re not the one that’s pushing or shoving or trying to move the defender in any way that’s illegal”. Should Osweiler maintain his form, Kubiak might be rolling the dice by inserting Manning as starter. “He did say there’s no immediate, quick or magic fix or can’t guarantee you this – that’s why we’re kind of going one week at a time”.
“I can’t wait”, Branch said.
“I think the No. 1 thing that’s impressed me is I think he understands exactly what he needs to do for the team to be successful”, Kubiak said of Osweiler.
