One Tornado Confirmed Friday In Day County
The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for several counties including Allen, Kosciusko, Whitley, Wabash, Wells and Huntington in Indiana and Allen and Van Wert in Ohio until midnight Saturday night. A Flash Flood Warning is also in effect for McHenry and Lake counties until 10 p.m. The extent of the damage is unclear but trees were down in the area and some sheds and grain bins were crumpled.
At 3:02 p.m., the Rock County 911 Communications Center received a call regarding substantial storm damages on East County A, near the Rock County/Walworth County line. “We could still get a few more, but it’s definitely a below-average season”. But by 5:30 p.m. the storms had subsided and attendees went back in.
The National Weather Service estimated winds up to 80 miles per hour passed through the Mt. Zion area.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (http://bit.ly/1TKAUjG ) reports the tornado touched down from 2:40 to 2:50 p.m.in an area between Janesville and Elkhorn.
