Ringo Starr’s copy of the Beatles” “The White Album’ has been sold at auction. “It will have my fingerprints on it”, he told Rolling Stone.
In all, Starr netted $9.2 million from more than 1,300 pieces of memorabilia up for bid between him and his wife, Barbara Bach.
“Finally, after 45 years, the Beatles are together again”, Irsay said in a text message to The Associated Press. Other items that were sold during the bidding include a Rickenbacker guitar, which Starr received from the late John Lennon.
Some of the proceeds will go to The Lotus Foundation, which was founded by Starr and Bach to fund and promote charitable projects, the auction house said.
