The rumored smaller model of the iPhone will likely be called ‘iPhone 6C’.
The latest images to do the rounds on social media purport to be the iPhone 7 – due to come out in 2016 – and feature an iPhone 6, stretched comically to accommodate a Blackberry-style QUERTY keyboard. Not only are there rumors about what Apple is planning to add to the next model of the iPhone but also what’s going to be removed.
Waterproof handset – In a development that will make anyone who has ever dropped their phone in the sink very happy, some analysts are hinting that the iPhone 7 could feature waterproofed ports and seams. Moving on to the flagship iPhone 7 specifications, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reportedly acknowledged that the device will flaunt a solid 3 GB of RAM, unlike the predecessor.
“The iPhone 6C could fall into the same trap of the iPhone 5C”, Munster noted in a research report released December 4. This will make the second month of 2016 extremely interesting, as it is generally assumed now that Samsung will schedule the release of the Galaxy S7 for February as well.
Since its launch in 2007, the iPhone has grown spectacularly to become Apple’s number one sale product. This means that the iPhone 7 would have an edge to edge display.
And Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray is in agreement, saying in a report that an expensive iPhone variant will smaller screen and scaled down features will prove a hard sell for majority of Apple fans that market-conditioned for the supersized iPhones. The huge difference is that 3D Touch can sensor two degrees of pressure, giving more ways to interact with the phone while the Force Touch can only sense between a tap and a hard press. This switch would require headphone owners to buy an adapter, or headphone manufacturers to build a new type of connector, for the new iPhone 7.
