FA Cup 3rd Round
The Tigers were paired up against Chris Hughton’s side in this evening’s draw in a repeat of the fifth round tie that City won on their way to the 2014 final.
Arsenal’s north London rivals Tottenham, meanwhile, were also handed a hard draw as they will face league leaders Leicester at White Hart Lane.
The Spitfires are in the third round of the competition for the first time in the club’s history after winning 2-0 at Northern Premier outfit Stourbridge on Saturday. That would put the game in between the home game against Newcastle, Jan. 2, and a trip to Liverpool, Jan. 13.
Teams from the Premier League and Sky Bet Championship will be in the hat and the Robins are ball number nine.
Norwich have been knocked out by lower-level clubs in four of the past five seasons and progressed beyond the third round just five times in the past 20 seasons.
While Everton, who went out at this stage last season in a replay against West Ham, will be at home to either League Two Dagenham and Redbridge or National League South side Whitehawk after the two sides drew 1-1 yesterday.
The match will be played at Exeter’s St. James’ Park and will place on the weekend of 8th to 11th January. Not that it’ll be as straightforward as that of course as this is the FA Cup we’re talking about isn’t it!
