Stabbing at Miami Art Show Mistaken by Some as Performance Art

Authorities have established a staging area following the shooting that occurred on Alton Road at 16th Street.
Calls to the Miami Beach Police Department were not immediately returned. Some patrons thought the stabbing was a performanceart presentation.
A witness caught the entire shooting in a short video that’s going viral as you can see below. He at first refused to come out, but then “emerged with a straight edge razor in his hand”, Prieto said on Saturday.
Shots were fired and the suspect was killed.
His identity hasn’t been released but Oates said he is Hispanic.
When a woman was stabbed at an art exhibition, onlookers assumed she was part of the show.
An arrest affidavit obtained by the Post states that she told police, “I had to kill her and two more!”. The victim accused Zhao of following her and repeatedly bumping into her. According to police, Zhao responded by stabbing her in the neck and shoulder. Zhao was apprehended by police and taken into custody.
“That’s what was making me angry”, she said.
Zhao faces a charge for attempted murder and is being held on $7,500 bond.
“The injuries are non life-threatening”, Prieto said.
Miami artist Naomi Fisher said she heard the scuffle and later saw a woman being taken away by paramedics.
The string of controversial shootings by police nationally continued this weekend when police officers in Miami Beach opened fire, at close range and with high-powered rifles, on a robbery suspect who appeared to be surrendering.
High-profile killings of black men at the hands of mainly white law enforcement officers in US cities have fueled demonstrations for some two years, stoking a national debate on race relations and police tactics. Some patrons initially thought that the ensuing blood and police tape were all part of the show.
