United’s Schweinsteiger charged over Reid elbow
West Ham United are next in Premier League action on Saturday December 12, when Stoke City are the visitors to Upton Park (3pm).
Schweinsteiger was spotted making contact with Reid during the 0-0 draw in what appeared to be a deliberate elbow to the throat or head.
Referee Mark Clattenburg spoke with the two players after their coming together in the second half, but claims he didn’t see the incident at the time.
“This was a captain’s performance if ever I saw one”, said Crooks. No matter how many referees you have, sometimes they can’t see.
The Telegraph has said United have rejoined the race for PSG’s Lucas Moura and that the Red Devils want to ensure the Brazilian does not move to title rivals Arsenal.
“It is very important for us and I know how hard it is at Wolfsburg”.
“Of course we have chances and we had the chances to win this match but we have to score”. He just didn’t see it.
“It was a red card”, Reid said in Britain’s Daily Mail.
‘I don’t understand that they are shouting “attack, attack” because we are the attacking team and not West Ham, ‘ he said. In this sense, we are backing them to win with a goal removed from their score. “I can’t blame the referee”. We are trying but we need a goal otherwise you can not talk about winning a trophy because we should be winning at home to West Ham.
“I can only praise the team because first of all the way we defended and the way we were closing them down, and the way we were good with the ball”, Bilic added. Firstly a desperate combination of De Gea, Chris Smalling and an upright denied Mauro Zarate giving West Ham an advantage, then Reid’s header cannoned back off the foot of the post, much to the anguish of the travelling support.
Herrera, meanwhile, has not played since the 2-1 win over Watford in November where he suffered a hamstring problem and was also omitted from the 19-man squad for Tuesday’s match.
