_DE Greg Hardy: The controversial defensive end made a splash early by registering four sacks in his first four games with the Cowboys.
Along with the defeat, Dallas again lost franchise quarterback Tony Romo who reinjured his collarbone. With that loss, the Giants are now 5-7 on the season and are currently a half game behind the Redskins for the division lead. The total has gone UNDER in five of Dallas’ last six road games, and in four of Washington’s last six home games.
Add in the addition of several high-quality draft picks and a splash free agent signing, and Dallas looked to be serious contenders. In WR Dez Bryant the Cowboys have one of the league’s most productive pass catchers, as Bryant leads the NFL with 43 TD receptions since 2012.
A 20-10 victory over the hated Eagles, came at a much more severe price than what anyone could have ever imagined. As linebacker Sean Lee put it succinctly, “It’s time to play winning football”.
The Redskins looked outstanding against the Giants last week. The issue for the Cowboys is simple; they can’t win without Romo throwing the football.
That does bode well for the running game this week against the 27th ranked defense in the NFL.
The Redskins aren’t anywhere near as dominating as the Cowboys were in 2014 however.
