Google CEO Sundar Pichai to Visit India in His First Overseas Trip
While Microsoft chief executive Satya Nadella is expected to come toward the end of December on a personal visit, Sundar Pichai- recently elevated as boss of Google Inc-will be here in a week or so.
Google’s Indian-born CEO Sundar Pichai will visit India this month. Similarly, Google CEO is expected to host an open event with the students from across India at the Delhi University. We are expecting that Pichai’s session with the DU student will be on the same lines.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai is scheduled to visit India next week.
During his official visit to India in September a year ago, Nadella had announced plans for local data centres in the country. He is further supposed to give the keynote address at a Google for India event, where he might sketch out the tech giant’s plans for the nation. We think that Pichai will be speaking at this event, though there is no official confirmation about the same. However, the details of the visit is yet to be confirmed.
The invite said, “At Google, we believe that technology can change people’s lives for the better”.
During Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the Silicon Valley in the month of September, wherein he met CEO of top U.S. based companies. In the two days that he would be here, he would be outlining his Indian vision for the coming years. Android One represents Google’s push to lower the prices of smartphones in less developed parts of the world where computers are considered a luxury.
They have also promised that Google will enable the Indian users to type in 11 Indian languages including Gujarati, which is apparently the mother tongue of Narendra Modi on the Android platform. These new users have a completely fresh view on what the Internet has to offer.
