Joey + Rory Shocked by Surprise Grammy Nomination
The pair has been looking for ways to keep positive throughout their battle, making a decision to come home to Alexandria to be with family during Joey’s final days.
However, on Monday, the country group/married couple received some much needed good news after it was announced that their song If I Need You received a Grammy nomination. “Christmas does what no amount of New Year’s resolutions or self-help books can do… it changes people”.
“Indy and I had been living out of a suitcase and needed a little more room and this place has a big picture window in the bedroom so Joey can look out and see white geese and black swans swimming in the pond and deer walking down the path”, Feek wrote.
A Joey Feek Grammy nomination brought the country star and her husband to tears Monday as she continues to fight for her life in hospice care.
Recently the couple’s favorite local pizza place, Pizza King, generously gifted the Feeks – specifically 21-month-old daughter IN – with a big bag of presents. And not just any Christmas – a very special Christmas – one that we’ll never forget, ‘ he added. “What a handsome, thoughtful thing to do”.
Earlier this year Joey Feek underwent surgery to treat her cervical cancer that was being treated with chemotherapy and radiation. She loves ripping open the paper and seeing what’s inside.
Rory, 49, said this past weekend that his wife was ‘still feeling pretty good’.
“Joey’s sisters and I opened the bag and realized that those nice folks had bought and wrapped 25 separate presents (they’re all different books I think) for IN to open”, Rory describes.
The fourth day of December was especially heartwarming as IN was able to open her gift on her mother’s lap.
Inspirational: Joey, who was diagnosed with cervical cancer in May 2014, has chose to share her story and her fearless battle with others.
